Learn-To-Rows --> Click Here for Pricing
No prior rowing experience necessary!
Learn-To-Row session is a 2-hour introductory to rowing for adults. The course is designed to give a prospective rower a basic introduction to the sport, including learning about rowing, its equipment, and actually rowing in a boat on the water!
The learn-to-row will start on land with our US Rowing certified coaching staff teaching the students about the boats, the oars, common nomenclature, and general safety procedures. During the last half of the Learn-To-Row session, students are grouped by three with an experienced rower and sent out in a boat to learn the basics of the rowing stroke from KCRC coaching staff.
Learn-To-Row graduates choosing to continue learning the sport are encouraged to enroll in any of the 4-week clinics offered by KCRC.

No prior rowing experience necessary!
A Beginning Clinic is the next step after a successful Learn-To-Row, or the starting place for those wanting a more thorough introduction to the sport of rowing. This four week class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the KCRC Boatyard located in Wyandotte County Lake Park.
Instruction will include a thorough introduction to the sport, its equipment, its nomenclature, and standard safety procedures. Boat handling and the basic rowing strokes are taught by US Rowing certified KCRC coaching staff. After the first week, much time is spent in boats working on refining technique as well as the team aspects of the sport. No experience is necessary.
Upon successful completion of a clinic, the rower is eligible to join the Club and participate in regularly scheduled captained rows with the other masters. Clinic registration fees include Club membership for the current season. Rowers wishing to continue are welcome to join the club as novice rowers.

Masters meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10:30am (Spring) or 8:30am (Summer and Fall) at the KCRC Boatyard located in Wyandotte County Lake Park.
The rowing experience will include a continuation of training in the sport, its equipment, its nomenclature, and standard safety procedures. Boat handling and the basic rowing strokes are taught by US Rowing certified KCRC coaching staff and stroke refinement continues with each practice. Rowers are boated based on skill and fitness. Typically, there is one coached rowing session per week with the remaining sessions lead by a captain. In addition, rowers are invited to participate in regattas that are held throughout the year. Regatta fees and expenses are separate from club membership.
